What's new for teens!

Teen Library Services
For the purposes of teen programming and services, BFPL defines teens as anyone between 11 and 19 years.
Understanding Teen Patrons
The teenage years are a time of great change. Teens are trying on a variety of roles and determining their identity, they are peer oriented, becoming more independent, and developing a stronger sense of right and wrong. Hormones cause a variety of changes. In addition, research indicates that teenagers use a different part of their brains; they literally think differently than adults do.
Teen Space – Cultivating a space in the library that teens can activate and own sends teens a strong signal they are valued and welcome. YA books are shelved here as well as a large collection of board games.
