Renovation Updates 5/3

The Great Renovation edges ever closer to the finish line this week with finish painting of door frames, window frames, ceiling trim with crown molding, exterior siding on the south side and bathrooms. Trim is being installed around the elevator doors at each landing, maple trim is being installed around windows and first floor hardwood flooring repairs are in progress. There is a fairly large area where the circulation desk was located and where the grand staircase used to come down to the first floor from the second floor that was infilled with plywood and is now being restored with hardwood flooring to match the existing. There are also a variety of holes drilled and openings cut into the flooring over the years for electrical devices and other unknown needs that are all being repaired. This is in preparation for final sanding and finishing of the first floor in the historic library. The 1967 addition will be carpeted on both the first and second floors. Final bookcase plans are being reviewed and the bookcases should go into production in the next week. The site fencing will be removed once the high lift is no longer needed for exterior painting. Weather permitting in about 2 to 3 weeks! Once that occurs, site cleanup will commence!
